Trayvon Martin Saying: "Why Are You Following Me?"

I have listen to Rachael Jeantel saying she heard Trayvon ask George "why are you following me", and listen to George saying Trayvon basically saying the same thing.

Now, the way I see it, Trayvon surprised George from coming out of hiding.  I've thought about this over and over again, and I'll relate to it based on what happens to me from time to time.

I go outside to the backyard, and I could see at least six of the backyards of my neighbors to the right, left and behind me.  I can see no one is outside, so I do what I need to do, then all of a sudden one of my neighbor's says "hello" to me.  My back is to the neighbor, and I knew he wasn't outside when I went out, but in an instant, he makes the first statement.

He is confronting me with: "hello."  My response always , well first I jump a little in my skin and then I say: "you scared me, as I didn't see you".

When someone says the first word, they see you before you see them especially if you are out there and no one is there.

Of course, if you are walking in a store, and you are walking towards someone face to face, it's obvious either you smile and they smile, or one says hello and then the other responds.

So far, nothing that has come out of the trial to tell me that George continued to follow Trayvon once he was told by the dispatcher "we don't need you to do this" with George agreeing. George could no longer see Trayvon per his conversation with the dispatcher, yet Trayvon is telling Rachel "he is getting closer."

I can understand that no one wants to have Trayvon be the aggressor when it comes to the initial confrontation with "why are you following me", but it is what it is.

My thoughts:
State introduced to the jurors Greg McKinney.  He oversees the 9 cameras located at the complex where the incident took place.  It turns out that the camera at the front gate was not working.  The state showed the video from inside the clubhouse that is pointing towards the front entrance of the clubhouse, and if you watch closely, you can see headlights passing by the front doors.

It appears that the time on the camera, recording the headlights passing by the front door is off by 18 minutes.  Mantei (State) mentions the military time on the camera, however, he paused so long, he didn't have a clue what the military time conversion was for regular time.

Showing the headlights passing by the front door is telling the jurors exactly what?  Are we to think this is George Zimmerman driving by at a certain time, when the camera clock is off my 18 minutes?

O'Mara gets up and by the time he finishes with McKinney, McKinney is not even sure if the clock is off 18 minutes or more, or even less.  That went really flat.

Jonathan Good, who I believe is the Defense witness was called by the State.  This witness did not want to be on camera, and there was a motion hearing prior to the trial starting.  However, his request was denied and now he is "raw and center" for everyone to see.

Good did see the guy in the dark clothing on top of the lighter skinned person in the "white or red" clothing. Good saw the person on top's arms moving down .  He yelled out to them, and he could hear the words "help".  Good went back into his apartment to call the police, and while he is dialing the police and just a second before connected to 911 he heard the shot.

Good is the best witness so far, as he was able to see more, but he didn't actual see the shot happen as he went to call 911.

One thing for sure, Good needs to understand vertical and horizontal.  A few witness mentioned vertical when they saw Trayvon and George but that made no sense to me.  Vertical is up and down line = person standing up and horizontal is side to side line = person laying down.

O'Mara had to get Good to understand that and eventually everyone was working with horizontal.  Although on redirect, Bernie borrowed Good's water bottle, with Bernie's water bottle in hand, with both water bottles in a horizontal position to indicate the position.

Then Bernie returns Good's water bottle to him in a vertical position.  :)

State calls John Manalo.  His wife testified earlier in the week.  John didn't want his wife to get involved, but she kept watching.  John saw George on the sidewalk and had his phone to his ear.  He saw blood on George's face.

Manalo decided to take a picture of Trayvon on his stomach, dead on the grass. He took a photo of the flashlight not far from Trayvon's body. He took a photo of George's bloody face, and while George was trying to get his "land-legs" together while stooping down, Manalo took a photo of the back of George's head.

Manalo never saw the gun on George, and testified that George told him he was getting beaten up and he defended himself.

If anyone wants to be a "wannabe" cop, it would be Manalo.  Who the hell asks the person who just shot someone, what type of calibar did you use?  REALLY!

Once the cops arrived, George dropped his cellphone and asked Manalo to call his wife, since the cops were handcuffing George for their own safety.

Manalo calls George's wife (paraphrasing) "you husband has been involved in a shooting and he is being detained and will be going to the Sanford Police Department."  George tells Manalo, "just tell her I shot someone".

The State tried to twist and make what George told Manalo was more than what it actually meant.

As a woman, if I get a phone call when you start out, "your son has just been involved in a shooting" I will NOT hear anything else.  I will instantly go to my son was shot.  Since George knows his wife, he did the right thing telling Manalo, "just tell her I shot someone."

* Remember George was on his way to go grocery shopping and not out on neighborhood watch patrol.

All in all, lots of information came out from the witnesses.  George telling the EMT what happened to him, they described what he looked like when they arrived.  EMT reported on Trayvon, with what they did or could not do for Trayvon.

One of the officers noting grass on the back of George's jacket and it being wet as well as the back of his pants. Repeated what George told him about getting beaten up, yelling for help, no one helped him and he defended himself.

Even the "physician's assistant" was a good witness for George, although she saw George many hours after the incident.  She was able to see what George looked like within minutes after the incident, then a few hours later at the police station compared to what George looked like in the doctor's office.

I must say though, Bernie was panting and panting because he so wanted to say "MMA." He was so focused on waiting for the second he could spew out "MMA".  MMA - Mixed Martial Arts that his questions were off.

However, from what I understand, George was doing MMA aerobics, of which, would be something like this:
From what I can see, it is the arm and leg movements, but NOT stretch training to be able to get into a ring and fight someone.  I feel George is not even capable of moving a punching bag if he hits it.

One thing that I wish Bernie would stop doing, is asking the witnesses to describe the weather outside that evening.  He needs to leave out "SNOW" as it doesn't snow in Florida!

Until Monday ....

George Zimmerman Trial - Day 4 - Jenna Lauer's Twitter
Note: It's time for attorney's to understand how social media works.  Lawyers will say:"ignorance of the law" is no excuse.  So if attorney's are going to bring into court a witness, defendant, or plantiff's Facebook, Twitter or any other social media account, learn how it all works, instead of "I don't know anything about Twitter or Facebook" etc.

My thoughts:
Well Rachael Jeantel was back on the stand today, with a better attitude at least for awhile.  As I listened to her today and yesterday, I will say, that I believe just about everything she stated regarding what Trayvon said to her on the phone.  The creepy-ass cracker, and nigga following Trayvon in the car, telling Trayvon to run, or hide, or Trayvon heading home and Trayvon saying to George "why are you following me".

The part with Trayvon saying to George, "why are you following me" sort of fits with what George stated.  Now Rachael Jeantel states in a deposition, she heard a punch.  On the stand she changed the "punch" to a "bump."  Could the Urban terminolgy of "bunch" mean "punch?"  Too tired to even look it up.

Either way, punch was used, so I'm running with punch.  Since George ended up with a broken nose, and George's statement state Trayvon punch him, then Trayvon punched him.  Would a sucker punch knock a person to the ground, oh most certainly it would, especially when you aren't expecting it.

Now Rachael states often on the stand, "I heard the "bump" and then the phone went dead.  However, now Rachael states she also heard "get off, get off".   Should I give this one to Rachael?  Yup, I will give it to her, because with George on the ground and Trayvon on top, then the person on the bottom would be saying "get off, get off".

Do I think George said "get off, get off", not really. If anything George would be yelling and screaming for help, or uttering a noise as his head is being smashed into the sidewalk.

I didn't get to watch about 45 minutes of her testimony from this afternoon, and will get to it and add any additional thoughts that I might have.  Rachael Jeantel has not been released from the court and is on notice that she is still under oath and could be called back to court for further testimony.

With the other 2 witnesses,  Lauer and Mora, neither of them saw from start to finish exactly what happened.  Jenna Lauer was the person on the phone with 911 when we heard the screams and shot, and Mora was a neighbor who came out and asked "what was going on".

This is why the Defense in his opening statement mentioned "we will hear bits and pieces of what happened that day, but no one saw the incident from start to finish."  This is so true, because within a second or two, positions changed of who is on top and who is on the bottom.

However, what must come into the jurors mind is that "if the person on the bottom is shot in the chest, with someone on top of him, the body will remain face up".  Witnesses stated that Trayvon was on his stomach.   So those precious seconds from Trayvon on top, George on bottom, the shot by George to Trayvon chest, Trayvon falls down on top of George and George slips out from under Trayvon, then bending over Trayvon to hold him there while cops arrive, only to see he is dead, stands up with his bloody face and bloody abrasions on the back of his head, while Trayvon laying on his stomach until the first cop comes to move him.  So important.

After listening to the Martin family's attorney's press conference, I so need medication to soothe my rattled nerves.

This is clearly more of "what's good for the goose (Trayvon racial comments) is NOT good for the gander (George saying black male).  Parks feels Trayvon is not saying racial slurs (creepy-ass cracker & nigga) about George, however. George IS racially profiling Trayvon because of "black male" in his description to the dispatcher, and George saying it twice.

I could go on and on about Parks, however, I just tweeted "PLEASE no more press conferences until the trial is OVER!"

George Zimmerman Trial - Rachel Jeantel doesn't like court
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ssog4ZZjRj4

My thoughts:
I'm not even sure I know where to start with today's testimony.  Probably the best way to put it is, there was a lot of assumptions with regard to who was on top the day of the shooting. Who had the deeper tone, angry voice and who had the soft-toned high pitched voice.

Assumptions with regards to who was bigger, and using photos that were presented to the media of a young Trayvon in football jersey's and a hoodie to determine that the person that was on the ground being beaten up was Trayvon.  Also determining that the soft-toned high pitched voice was Trayvon when the yelling was happening outside in the courtyard.

One witness never, ever saw the recent photo of Trayvon, a still shot from the video when Trayvon was in the 7-11 and the other witness claiming it was Trayvon screaming when she never, ever heard Trayvon Martin or George Zimmerman's voice.

At one point one of the witnesses wanted to view the recent photo of Trayvon in 7-11, however the State quickly objected.  Now you would think that seeing a recent photo of Trayvon would keep this trial "fair and balanced", however the State prefers leaving in the mind of the court a younger Trayvon.

I'll say this, IF George Zimmerman was on top of Trayvon, then how the hell did George Zimmerman get abrasions to the back of his head and sides of his head?

It appears that there was a punch to George's face, and this may have happened when Trayvon confronted George and then punched him.  Even Rachel stated Trayvon ASKED George "why are you following me" with George responding back.  IMO, if George confronted Trayvon, it would have been "what are you doing in this neighborhood".

Rachel states that she heard Trayvon say: "get off, get off" and sometimes Trayvon uses a soft baby voice.  Well, if George was on top of Trayvon, and Trayvon was shot in the chest with George on top of him, how the hell did Trayvon get on his stomach when he is suppose to be on his back?

The responding cop even stated in court that he turned Trayvon over onto his side.  I believe one of the witnesses even indicated that Trayvon was on his stomach after the shot.

There are many words regarding Rachel Jeantel, the girl on the phone with Trayvon.  It was very disturbing to me that Jeantel didn't want to tell Trayvon's mother what actually happened.  What she did tell Trayvon's mother, she cleaned up what was actually stated and left out so much.  Jeantel lied about her age, lied about why she didn't go to the wake, gave a rushed "not interested" type deposition about what happened and most of all, so rude, so very rude with a huge attitude.

It saddens me greatly, because if anyone was going to stand up for her buddy Trayvon, the guy she shared hundreds of texts and perhaps flirty texts and many phone calls, was an embarrassment just to herself.

Best question of the day came from O'Mara right at the end, "how did you know to answer the State about information that has never been used before ... the movement from left to right.

My thoughts:
I am still waiting for the State to come forth with a "Slam Dunk" with their case.  So far, IMO, the State has fallen flat on their face.

Presenting the crime scene photos makes it so real, and sympathy to the Martin family over the loss of their son.  However, sympathy has to be removed and just focus on the evidence presented by the State, and when the Defense comes forth to add additional information to the evidence presented to the jurors.

The State will not show bloody photos of George Zimmerman, but will say, no blood on Trayvon hands.  However, a bystander took photos of George on the scene that showed blood on George's face. The State won't bring out that it was raining and that maybe the reason there was no drops of blood on the sidewalk from George, or perhaps on Trayvon's hands as Trayvon laid out in the rain for about 15 minutes.

The State's witness, a retired HOH president, mentioned that the 17 year old black male was arrested for the burglaries in the community.  He also stated he praised the witnesses that spotted the black male and followed him so he could be arrested.

The State's witness who trained the neighborhood watch members, actually ended up being a a good defense witness, so that was a loss for the State.

The first responding officer on the scene, once it was known that Trayvon was dead, couldn't get Trayvon's cellphone to work.  The cellphone was working while Trayvon was on the phone with that girl.  So that leaves me to think that the cellphone was in Trayvon's hand when he punched George.  I can also try to consider the phone fell to the ground and broke, but I am just not leaning toward it breaking by falling.  I have dropped my cellphone so many times and hasn't broken yet.

Bahadoor, the last State witness was a joke.  She claims she stated in her depositions and meeting that she mentioned movements going left to right, however, there was not one single work in any of the transcripts stating left or right.  Of course, Bahadoor, basically blames the transcript for not putting it in there because she said it!

By the time O'Mara got finished with her, we learn that she liked a Trayvon's Facebook page, she signed the "change.org" petition to prosecute George Zimmerman, she did an interview for a national TV program, and stated she told her sister about the left.right movement in the back yard.

Although, while watching the State asking her questions, you can see Bernie begin to feed Bahadoor the right and left.  Bernie states something about being in the kitchen and looking to her right and left and then this is added to the movements in the backyard going from right to left.

If someone is in your backyard, can you tell, which way they are moving without really seeing them?  I doubt that the outside wall in her kitchen is that thin, especially since that wall should be a firewall, since it is her kitchen and she is in a condo.

Adding cellphone timelines for reference:

Girl and Trayvon Martin:
6:54:16  - 7:11:47

Another call between Girl and Trayvon Martin
7:12:06 - 7:15:43 PM

George Zimmerman Call to Non Emergency Dispatcher:
7:09:34 - 7:13:40 (call ends)

Witness call to 911 reporting screams for help
7:16:11 PM

My thoughts:
Listening to the State's opening statement starting out very stern with "fucking punks" and "these assholes always gets away" was the best that they had in this case.  Words are words, and many people have used these words in some form or another in their lifetime.

The State, although not speaking the words "racial profiling" or "racists", this is the route that they want to go.  How do you describe a suspicious person to the police if you don't give them the color of their skin.  Some would be white, some would be black, or Asian, perhaps Hispanic.  Although Hispanic may look black depending on their skin color, so that one would be hard to describe to the police.

Heck, we have one juror seated where the media is not clear of her race, so they classify her as black or Hispanic.

Now to the Defense, I was appauled with the way Don West started his opening statement with a "knock, knock" joke.  This was so ridiculous and was so not needed in his opening statement.  George Zimmerman is on trial for second degree murder and you start out with a "knock, knock" joke?

Although West apologized to the jurors after the lunch break, it was really a "half-ass" apology since West felt it was the delivery of the joke to the jurors.  NO, Don West, it wasn't the delivery, it was a stupid move on your part.

Don West had lots of good information and facts on the case, but he was so confusing with his delivery.  As an "in-home" juror, not tainted by the outside crap of this case, West was confusing me and he was hard to follow.

I realized that West's strong point is not in "show and tell."  I was surprised with the cellphone timelines and didn't realize how close the different calls started and ended.

I am beginning to feel, based on the cellphone timeline, that Trayvon was still on the phone with this girl when he approached George Zimmerman asking George and paraphrasing "why are you following me."  Because George could not see Trayvon any longer when he ended the call with police, it is very possible that Trayvon came out to confront George.

The one thing that I have learned in my lifetime, we are a "hell of a lot braver" when we have someone with us, then we are standing alone.  Although Trayvon didn't have someone at his side, he had this girl on the other end of the phone.

There is a 19 second difference from when the call between Trayvon and this girl ended and then another call was placed.  Right at the time that George Zimmerman is telling the dispatcher "these assholes get away" George can no longer see Trayvon and Trayvon's call ends with the girl.

Was Trayvon "ducking and hiding" causing the phone call to end by his movement?  IMO, that call between the girl and Trayvon ended abruptly, because the girl called him back 19 seconds later.

I have a feeling that when Trayvon confronted George, of which, I believe Trayvon did confront George, based on what I heard yesterday and subject to change as trial goes on, I feel Trayvon punched George in the face while still holding his cellphone.

At the time of the punch, and the cellphone call ended, and the cellphone not working when the police arrived on the scene shortly after the shooting, I feel Trayvon punched George with the cellphone.

What I did hear from O'Mara when he was questioning the dispatcher, was the sound that was heard when George got out of his truck.  I thought the sound was because George was following Trayvon at a fast pace, but then O'Mara was talking about the wind coming thru the cellphone.

That makes sense now because if you are up against a building, you are block from the wind to some extent, however if you are in a breezeway of some sort, you could hear the wind passing through the cellphone.

Of course, what I write is my opinion and how I am seeing things at this moment.

Saturday, June 22, 2013

Why do so many people feel George Zimmerman continued to follow Trayvon?

I don't understand why so many people feel that George Zimmerman continued to follow Trayvon Martin after the dispatcher asked George Zimmerman if he was following the person.

George Zimmerman's initial written statement to the police shortly after the shooting:
http://www.gzdocs.com/documents/statements/written_statement_0226.pdf

In the non-emergency call regarding a suspicious person in an area where there had been some burglaries, George Zimmerman was sitting in his vehicle.  As George Zimmerman was speaking to the dispatcher, George is telling the dispatcher that Trayvon Martin was looking at him and heading in his direction.

At that point, George Zimmerman, while still talking to the dispatcher, gets out of his truck and starts to follow Trayvon Martin.  You can hear that George Zimmerman voice changing as it appears he could be walking at a fast pace.

When the dispatcher asked George Zimmerman if he was following the suspicious person, George stated yes, and the dispatcher told George "we do not need you to do that."

At that point, you can hear George Zimmerman respond "OK", and then you can clearly hear that George's voice returns to normal and no longer walking at a fast pace.

It appears George was heading back toward his vehicle as he tells the dispatcher where he will be located, and to have the police call him so that he can tell them exactly where he is located. George also tells the dispatcher that he doesn't see the suspicious person.

At one point Trayvon Martin came up on George Zimmerman asking him if he had a problem and punched George Zimmerman in the face knocking him down and began beating his head into the sidewalk.

George Zimmerman started screaming for help.  There is eye-witnesses that heard the screaming coming from George Zimmerman, while Trayvon Martin was on top of George Zimmerman.  Trayvon either saw or felt George's gun and they both struggled with the gun, with George shooting Trayvon.

If George was heading back to his vehicle, per the dispatchers instructions, then the pursuit of Trayvon Martin had ended.  It then turned to Trayvon pursuing George Zimmerman.  Trayvon attacked first, knocking George down, and Trayvon on top beating George's head.  George gained control of his weapon and shot Trayvon.

George Zimmerman's Speaks About Incident while taking a Voice Analysis
This video shows the size of George at the time of the shooting and he is not a very big man at that time.
http://www.gzdocs.com/documents/statements/video_interview_cvsa_0227.asf

The entire case that the State has against George Zimmerman appears to be that George Zimmerman continued to follow Trayvon.

I admit, I didn't follow this case in the beginning when the news first announced the "Hoodie March" and the flashing of a very young picture of Trayvon Martin.  For a brief amount of time, I paid attention until a recent photo of Trayvon popped up and the video of Trayvon in the store.  I knew at that point, this case was going to get very ugly, and I didn't want to get "sucked" into this case, however, I did.

I decided not to watch what other TV shows with one-sided commentary were saying about the case, but to watch the motion hearings and stay focused solely on what the State has and what the Defense was presenting to the court.  Also what George Zimmerman stated in the non-emergency call, the initial written statement of what happened, as well as the interview where George spoke about the incident before taking the Voice Analysis test.

Monday, June 24, 2013, the opening statements begin and I am looking forward to what the State and Defense presents to the jurors.

Trayvon Martin Family Lawyers Statement Re: Jury Selection - June 20, 2013

Trayvon Martin family lawyers' statement on George Zimmerman jury selection:

"This case has always been about equal justice. Equal justice under the law is not a black value or a white value. It's an American value. With the makeup of this jury, the question of whether every American can get equal justice regardless of who serves on their jury panel will be answered. We expect the jury pool to do their duty and be fair and impartial. We firmly believe that when these jurors see the overwhelming evidence that will be put before them in the coming weeks, they will find George Zimmerman guilty of murder on the night in question."

http://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1rkuec9

My thoughts on the George Zimmerman Jury Selection - June 20, 1013

As I read some of the #GeorgeZimmerman tweets, it is very clear people are clueless when it comes to selecting a jury. If I understand correctly, 500 people received summons to appear in court. I believe in Florida, the prospective jurors are selected by random via driver's licences.

The court starts with the first 100 jurors to fill out the questionnaire, and put into categories according to what they answer on the jury questionnaire.

We had B, H, E, I, M's and so on, and court starts with the first letter and works from there.

Once the first 40 that made it to the second phase of questioning, it is then that both the state and defense pick the jury. Remember, the STATE, representing Trayvon Martin could have stricken ten jurors, of which, they did strike four white women and also agreed to strike two black jurors.

The selection of jurors is not to go through 500 jurors, but to find a jury within the first 40, of which, is the amount that the judge selected for the second phase. If the first 40 did not seat the six jurors and four alternates, then the court will continue until they have the six jurors and four alternates.

I listened to all the jurors answers and also read the
#GeorgeZimmerman tweets when black men and woman spoke about their thoughts and how "tweeters" wondered where the black people were coming from especially if they didn't have an opinion one way or another.

It's pretty sad that people feel that a predominately all white jury can't be fair to determine whether an Hispanic man is guilty or innocent in the death of a black teenager.

Potential Juror G87 being questioned:

Although G87 would have made a good juror, once it came out that she saw the buses coming to the memorial and that she worked at the school across from the memorial, she was going to be dismissed.  What really ticked me off was Tony Pipitone, WKMG-TV Investigative Reporter.

While G87 was on the stand and mentioned the school, Tony tweets the name of the school.  Really Tony, we all know that the potential jurors were to remain anonymous, and I would believe this would include where they are employed.

The media has been getting a bad rap througout the jury selection and clearly the media doesn't really care.

Most surprising turn-of-events today, was dismissed potential juror "E7" showing up at the courthouse and ending near where the potential jurors were located.

George Zimmerman Attorney Speaks After Jury Selection

Thursday, June 13, 2013

George Zimmerman Trial - June 13, 2013

I need to post George Zimmerman's non emergency phone call to the police so it can be listened to again.  So many of the potential jurors heard things that actually were never stated.

Police never told George Zimmerman NOT to get out of the car.  Some of the potential jurors feel that when police told George not to follow Trayvon, that George continued to follow Trayvon.  If you listen to the tape, when the police asked George if he was following Trayvon, George stated yes, and the police told George "we do not need you to do that."  George then says OK, and then you can clearly here that George is not walking at a fast pace, but walking normally and talking to the dispatcher.  George at that point could not see Trayvon.

Today ten more potential jurors were questioned. E50, E75, E81, K80, K95, N18, B34, B67, P67, G14.

E50, male, white, in his early sixties and originally from West Virginia. He lost an adult child about five years ago, of which, apparently suffered from schizophrenia.  He has an adult daughter and her four year old child living with him.

E50, felt if this was a white on white, or black on black crime, the crowds would probably not even happen.

E50 takes his grandchild to school and/or summer camp and E50's wife picks the child up.  E50 feels that it would be difficult being on the jury as he has the responsibility of his grandchild.  Although his daughter is not working and might have a job on Monday, most is left up to E50.

However, E50 indicates being on the jury would mess up his golf game.  My thoughts about E50, if something ever happened to you, your family would have to find a way to get the grandchild to school or summer camp.  Think about it!

E75, male, white and a recent High School graduate.  E75 is at least eighteen years of age.  E75 is eighteen and not a child as he can serve on a jury and Trayvon was seventeen and classified as a "little child."  Although there is one year difference between E75 and Trayvon, it is very clear age seventeen is not a "little child."

Always keep in mind, a seventeen year old can join the military and fight for our country.

E75 gave the courtroom a very good insight on how teenagers perceived the shooting.  E75 appears to be very level-headed and would make a very good juror for this trial.

E81, female, white and in her thirties according to the media in the courtroom.  E81 feels George Zimmerman is innocent. E 81 looked right at George Zimmerman when she said he should go home.

E81 feels people have the right to defend themselves and carry a firearm as long as it is legal and lawful.

E-81 stated: "If a boy is smoking pot, interested in guns, learning to fight, going down wrong path, he is looking for reason to fight."

E81 has seen photos of George's injuries, knows about Trayvon and the marijuana, street fighting and the gun shown in the photos from Trayvon's cellphone.

E81 gave the state a run for their money.  E81 knows how she feels, and won't let one additional word be added to what she alone has stated.

E81 is married to an ex-police officer, and prefers not to be separated from him by being sequestered.  E81 prefers to sleep in her own bed.

E81 did feel that she will have a "bullseye" on her back should she be selected to be a juror.  I am not surprised by her feelings as Orange County, Florida is still healing from the Casey Anthony trial.

There was a lot of discussion at the side bar once questioning was over, and it will be very interesting to see if E81 makes it to the next round and eventually on the jury.

N18, male, middle-aged Hispanic.  N18 feels George Zimmerman is guilty.  N18 only reads the Bible and follows God's law.  N18 states if you kill someone you are guilty.  N18 feels his head is "out of balance, can't sleep and gets up at 2:00 AM prays on his knees.

B67, female, Hispanic and according to the media young.  B67 claims she never heard of Trayvon Martin or George Zimmerman.  Claims she didn't understand the jury questionnaire and claimed hardship.  B67 was dismissed.

P67, male, Hispanic and a Mexican immigrant from Chicago.  P67 posted on Facebook about receiving his jury summons.  No one in his family has served or received a summons to serve on a jury.

P67 want to be on the jury to serve as a US citizen.  It is very clear that P67 first language is Spanish, and as long as time is taken to explain things to P67, he clearly understands his duty as a juror.  My only concern with P67, is that the state talks fast, witnesses maybe to technical, and P67 might not be able to comprehend it all.

G14, female, white and middle-aged according to the media. G14 did check the Internet to see what trials were scheduled for Monday, June 10, 2013.

G14 has heard about the shooting on TV news, photos of George's injuries, 911 calls.  G14 hasn't picked a side and felt the protesters prompted discussions that didn't need to happen.

G14 claims she heard that George was told not to follow Trayvon but he did anyway!  G14 still would make a good juror and will learn the facts of the case at that time.

No decision had been made regarding sequestration before the potential jurors were questioned starting Monday.  However, at 1:00 PM today, the Judge informed the attorney's that the jury will be sequestered and the trial should last between two to four weeks.

Just before the court ended for the day, B65, black female from Wednesday, who lives a simple life, came into court to tell the court that her employer would not pay her for the entire sequestration.  B65 was dismissed.

Potential Juror E7 Dismissed Over Facebook post

http://www.clickorlando.com/news/jury-selection-enters-day-3-in-george-zimmerman-murder-trial/-/1637132/20533408/-/dtrlsmz/-/index.html

Well, I didn't see this one coming, potential juror E7 dismissed because of his Facebook post, of which, if the court wants, can file perjury charges against E7.

What a friggin mess, as I really like E7 and felt he was forthcoming.  I better check my "truth meter" as the battery must be low.

Could George Zimmerman jury candidate face perjury charges?
Read more: http://www.wesh.com/news/central-florida/trayvon-martin-extended-coverage/could-george-zimmerman-jury-candidate-face-perjury-charges/-/14266478/20545746/-/602xhk/-/index.html#ixzz2W3Gynth7

George Zimmerman Trial - June 12, 2013

Another fast-paced day questioning the potential jurors for the George Zimmerman Trial.  The following potential jurors took the stand: E73, M75, R39, B61, B72, E22, B87, E7, E13, E28.

One particular potential juror stood out today, R39, young male, perhaps of mixed race started off pretty well.  He didn't watch much, calls his mother on the way home from work every day, but the clincher was: "R39 believes murder is murder even if it was in self-defense."  That pretty much assured R39, he was not going to be a juror in this trial.  However, his words will be played endlessly over the entertainment news shows.

The other potential juror E7, male, white around 50 years old, was very interesting to listen to.  First, I thought he had an under-tone of being sarcastic.  Then, the more he spoke, it was more of being straightforward.  Although E7 seems to take on the "devil's advocate" role in conversations where an issue that is being pounded on, E7 will try to show another view.

I felt a connection to E7, as I have been a "devil's advocate" often throughout my life as I do believe there are two sides to each story.

E7 appeared to have seen enough coverage of what happened, and used "allegedly" a few times throughout his answers.  After the questioning of E7 ended, the attorney's went to a sidebar, and then the Judge asks E7 about a post made on "Coffee Pary Progressives" Facebook. I thought the title was "Party Progressive" but I wasn't able to confirm what I heard.  (I really need headphones before the trial starts.)

E7 looked at the paper the Judge handed to him and E7 confirmed he wrote the story.  The public is not aware of what was in the story, but it appears E7 makes it to the next round (I hope).

Note: To all potential jurors, make sure you check what you have written on Facebook or Twitter before you show up for jury selection.  If you claim you have a Facebook, the attorneys will check them out before you get to the stand.

E73 female feels media created racial overtones.  She has seen several photos of Trayvon Martin as well as George Zimmerman.  She has not formed an opinion, and has a child that requires care.

M75, female has not formed an opinion, and wants to hear the evidence.  M75 felt the "hoodie" march was ridiculous, if I heard her correctly.  M75 was invited to protest with her co-workers and she declined. M75 also believes that black people were not targeted and she lives close to where the shooting happened.

B61, female, white or Asian, late twenties, early thirties.  B61 feels it was not racially motivated.  B61 has seen pleas for money for George Zimmerman, and knows about the Trayvon Martin "marijuana."  B61 showed concern for safety after trial based on another high profile trial in another state.  I feel the trial B62 is talking about is the Jodi Arias trial.

E22, black, female heard about the case through Orlando Sentinel and channel 3. E22 knew about the marches, felt police needed to be more pro-active, and should have done something. E22 hopes people won't be violent after the trial.  What stood out to me is, E22 assured the attorneys "she did not have a secret agenda."

Nothing stood out to me with the balance of the potential jurors.  Once the court reaches 30 potential jurors questioned in the first round, they will be questioned again in another area of interest in the case.

Raw: Trayvon Martin family attorney speaks after Day 3 of jury selection

Transcript:
Attorney Crump made the following statement on behalf of the Martin family:  "Today on the third day of the jury selection in the Trayvon Martin murder trial we are inspired by the honesty of the potential jurors. Their answers have been forthright and we have faith that the justice system and the members of the public who are selected for the jury will perform their civic duty in a fair and impartial manner.

Yesterday, former NYPD detective Harry Houck commented to FOX that Trayvon would be alive today if he didn’t have a “street attitude.” This comment, made on a live panel, is reprehensible and extremely reminiscent of the victim blaming rhetoric we saw a year ago.

We all know Trayvon Martin was an unarmed teenager, who'd just bought Skittles and a tea on a chilly Florida evening in February. George Zimmerman was an armed adult who followed Trayvon down a street, pursued him and then shot him.
We are calling on the media to refuse to perpetuate victim blaming and irresponsible characterizations of Trayvon. The evidence shows there is no blood on Trayvon’s hands. Trayvon is not on trial here, he is the victim. Trayvon’s killer, George Zimmerman, is the man who is on trial."

George Zimmerman Trial - June 11, 2013

Jury selection picked up pace on Tuesday, June 11, 2013, with potential jurors B7, B35, B37, B51, B55, B2 (excused), B65, B86, E6, E40, E54 as well as one other potential juror, no number publicly announced in court. This potential juror spoke to the judge and lawyers and was excused.

Two potential jurors stood out in the Twitter world, B35 is a black male with a 21 year old child and a middle aged black female B65.

B35 seemed to be neutral with regard to what happened, and didn't feel that the shooting was racially targeted. As B35 continued to answer the lawyer's question, it started to look like B35 was the perfect juror for this trial.

When you have a potential juror that is "too good to be true," especially a potential juror who is black in a very high profile case where many people feel was racially motivated, you have to take a step back and really listen.

B35 seems to be the perfect juror as he would represent the community as he is black, and the Martin family wants jurors to represent the community. I have to take the Martin families word "represent the community" as some white and some black on the jury.

Since I am viewing the George Zimmerman Trial as an in-home juror who is neutral, and have taken no sides, it is very clear to me, many of the Twitter Trayvon Martin supporters were not happy with B35.

I really think that some feel that since B35 is black and in the community, he clearly should have had an opinion that George Zimmerman is guilty and he killed a "little child." I use "little child" because that is how Trayvon was being represented in the early days after the shooting.

I really wanted B35 to be part of the jury, but as time went on I ended up classifying him as a Stealth Juror.

B65 doesn't have the Internet, Cable, reads no newspapers, goes to church and lives a very simple life. B65 has heard about the George Zimmerman case through Church and has formed no opinion. In my opinion, she would be the perfect juror to represent the community.

B7, male, white, was very concerned about his name coming out publicly, and he should be concerned because some of the Twitter world is already gearing up should the verdict not be in their favor.

B51, female, white, perhaps middle-aged, seemed to say often "he didn't wait" when the dispatcher told George Zimmerman not to follow Trayvon. It was very clear to me that she didn't remember the non emergency communication.

B55 an Asian female seemed clueless, and E6 female, white, was very nervous. I don't feel either of these potential jurors will be selected. Personally, I don't feel they could handle the pressure of this trial as the protesters start hanging out at the courthouse.

E54, male, white did follow more regarding George Zimmerman not being arrested after the shooting, he has seen photos of George Zimmerman's nose and back of head. He was aware of the protest to have George Zimmerman arrested and he followed it up to George Zimmerman's arrest and second-degree murder charge.

A majority of the potential jurors over the last two days have seen some coverage of what happened between George Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin. Some heard more than others, and some watched early coverage and never followed anymore coverage.

The Twitter world needs to realize that people even within the Sanford community do not follow when there is a shooting in their community. They can hear about it and move on in life.

Also, not everyone in Sanford or across the land watches HLN or wants to even listen to other TV Show commentators or TV Lawyers and listen to their speculation of what happened between George Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin.

When commentator's speculation is constantly hitting the public in the face, we tend to remember the speculation and forget the facts of the case.
